American architect Philip Johnson strongly influenced the rise of the postmodern style of architecture. His design for the AT&T Building (now the Sony Building), constructed in New York City in 1984, had a particularly strong impact. The building’s architectural devices, such as the use of allusion in its Renaissance detail and Chippendale-style pediment, make it a symbol of postmodern architecture.
معمارآمریکایی فیلیپ جانسون نقش موثری در بالابردن ارزش سبک پوسمودرن در معماری داشت. طراحی ساختمان AT&T ( ساختمان با نام کنونی Sony) و ساخت آن در سال 1984 در نیویورک سیتی تاثیر بیشتری بر این روند گذارد. شیوه معماری مورد استفاده در عصر حاضر نشات گرفته از معماری عصر رنسانس و نیز معماری سبک chippendal-style بوده و خود معرف سبک پوسمودرن می باشد.

Rem Koolhaas House in Bordeaux
Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas designed this house in Bordeaux, France, on three levels. The lower level is carved from the hillside as a series of caverns, and serves for communal family life. The middle level of glass is designed to accommodate the husband, who is confined to a wheelchair; the central part is an elevator platform that moves between levels. The third level is divided into sections for the husband, wife, and children. Koolhaas was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2000 for his innovative work.
معمار هلندی Rem Koolhaasاین خانه را درسه طبقه در بوردیوکس فرانسه طراحی نمود. طبقه پائین همچون غاری حک شده در دامنه کوه , برای سرویس دهی به خانواده ها در نظرگرفته شده است. طبقه میانی شیشه ای بوده و برای افرادی که از صندلی چرخ دار استفاده می کنند سازگاری یافته است. بخش مرکزی , سکوی آسانسوری است که بین طبقات حرکات می کند. طبقه سوم خود به چند بخش تقسیم شده که برای مردان , زنان و بچه ها در نظرگرفته شده است. وی به خاطر ساخت این بنا در سال 2000 موفق به دریافت جایزه گردید.

Lloyd’s Building
Lloyd’s Building in London, England, was designed by Sir Richard George Rogers and completed in 1986. Rogers, a founder of what is known as the “high-tech” style of architecture, left the building’s structural elements highly visible.
این ساختمان در لندن توسط Sir Richard George Rogers طراحی شده و در سال 1986 تکمیل گردید. وی بنیانگذار سبک مشهور high-tech در معماری بود . ساختمان سمت چپ نمونه بارزی از انواع آن می باشد.
